Gregory Minissale is an art historian whose doctoral research at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, focused on the phenomenology of transcultural encounters in art. This background has informed his ongoing research into how perceptions and abstract concepts are engaged in the production and reception of art. He has taught art history to undergraduates and postgraduates in the UK and the US, and aims to integrate aspects of cognitive psychology, art theory and philosophy in order to provide new ways of researching and interpreting art and visual experience.

Gregory Minissale is currently lecturer in art history at the University of Auckland
